In the last session, we arrived at a strange word in Maurice Blanchot – a word that became an entire sentence: disaster.
And hence, we move towards a peculiar ally: Pierre Klossowski, on whom Blanchot wrote so beautiful and penetrating pages. For both writers, there is something like a complex sign: for Klossowski, it's Roberte, an all-bursting figure, carrying seeds of a different world within itself.
Blanchot writes of Klossowski that his work should appear “under an appropriate light – a light that will preserve the obscurity and preserve itself from too glaring an appearance.” He continues: “Discretion is here the guardian power… guardian also of a work pictorially rich and no less abstractly obscure.”
The session will approach Klossowski slowly and openly: through obscurity, images, discretion, and the strange border between writing and painting.
