Street Display in Rotating Modules
For eleven days, Galerie Linger occupies a 3 × 3 m structure at Alexanderplatz, putting its modest allocation of public space to use in the spirit of the Situationists.
We have invited a rotating constellation of artists to occupy, alter, and intervene in the structure. Works arrive, arrangements change, and the display develops through successive contributions. What stands there today may look quite different tomorrow.
The experiment coincides with the arrival of Stefan Römer's book Temporary Architectures at Linger, a photographic study of provisional pavilions erected for festivals and public occasions. Yet what the title accomplishes, what this particular focus reveals or undoes, remains an open question. An unexpected entanglement emerges between the book-object on Boppstraße and our spatial intervention at Alexanderplatz.
