A slim publication produced on the occasion of the exhibition Claes Oldenburg / Jack Smith at Christophstraße 18, spring 2024.

The pairing follows a shared sensibility: inflation of form, theatrical excess, and a refusal of good taste as stabilizing principle. Objects appear soft, staged, slightly off – closer to props than to sculpture. What holds them together is not influence, but attitude.

The publication operates accordingly. It does not document exhaustively, but frames a relation. Images and text remain light, allowing the exhibition to persist as a situation rather than closing into a statement.
