INTERVIEWS, HEFT 15 is an artist publication edited by Ayumi Rahn that brings together works by Philipp Modersohn and Anna-Lena Wenzel. The issue reflects on the material afterlife of objects and urban residues, approaching discarded forms such as slag, steel and industrial debris as active participants in visual thinking.

Rather than documenting ruins, the publication explores the quiet dramaturgy of waste and transformation. Fragments of matter become stages for sculptural encounters. The artists treat discarded materials not as remains but as agents, suggesting an inner logic of accumulation and displacement.

This perspective resonates with contemporary discussions in material philosophy, particularly Jane Bennett’s concept of vibrant matter, where objects possess a form of agency within ecological and cultural systems. INTERVIEWS, HEFT 15 approaches these questions through visual experimentation and artistic dialogue.

The result is a publication that moves between sculpture, ruin aesthetics and material thought. What begins as debris gradually becomes a space of reflection, where the improbable meeting of objects generates new visual narratives.
