The interview detached from its function. Questions do not extract answers; they generate them, distort them, sometimes undo them entirely. 

All interviews are fictional. Some resemble conversations about invention, practice, or thought, but quickly begin to tilt. 

The image on the cover – a fissure in the ground, figures standing at its edge – reads almost too literally. The interview as crack? As opening? As something one approaches, but does not cross?
