PATATAS BRAVAS
Patatas Bravas is a risky title because it is almost absurdly concrete. It anchors a drawing that otherwise seems to overflow every attempt at recognition.
Layers of ink, coloured pencil and restless lines accumulate until the image reaches a point of saturation. Figures threaten to appear, only to dissolve back into movement. Patatas Bravas records the momentum through which drawing invents itself, allowing order and disorder to coexist on the same surface.
Created by Noriaki together with his daughter Tesi, the work transforms spontaneous mark-making into an unexpectedly coherent pictorial field.
