RUSTIN.
RUSTIN.
A body that doesn't withdraw.
Figures without protection. Neither expressive nor symbolic.
Presence held longer than one would like.
Rustin’s turn to figuration in the 1970s was not a stylistic shift but an existential decision, producing a world of naked figures in bare interiors, where loneliness, shame and tenderness appear without hierarchy, without narrative, without exit.
