Allen Jones belongs to the generation of British Pop artists who turned away from the anonymous consumer object and toward the commodified body.
Fragmented into legs, torsos and silhouettes, the female figure oscillates between person and object, between mannequin and living body. The result is deliberately unsettling. Jones exposes the way modern visual culture assembles desire from fragments, reducing the body to a sequence of fetishized parts.
