PRIME SUBJECT

Galerie Buchholz books have arrived at Galerie Linger. They are dear to us not only for the strength of the programme, but also for the lineage behind it. Galerie Buchholz comes out of a bookshop history rooted in Cologne: Daniel Buchholz’s father ran an antiquarian bookshop there, and Buchholz himself began early, apprenticing with Walther König at the age of sixteen.

That atmosphere matters. One senses in these publications a distinct bookshop air – a relation between artworks, books and display that feels lived rather than merely designed. It is something we value deeply.

Here, one of our favourites: Lucy McKenzie’s “Prime Subject”, published by Verlag der Buchhandlung Walther König. A quiet feat of subtly pop new rococo, if we may say so.

More titles by Lucy McKenzie are currently in stock, alongside further publications from the Buchholz line.
