CORROSION VESSEL

The vessel was thrown on the wheel. Before firing, a chemical reaction was introduced into an area of the dry clay; glaze was subsequently applied by hand in varying densities. During firing these interventions produced a rough, corrosion-like surface alongside the smooth body of the vessel.

Corrosion appears here without the duration normally required to produce it. The surface records a process while simultaneously presenting the appearance of a history.
