DAVID BLACK IN BERLIN
DAVID BLACK IN BERLIN
A document of David Black’s stay in West Berlin, where he developed his early Plexiglas works. Notably, for this period, Black built his own machines to cut and shape Plexiglas, allowing him to control colour, layering and light directly in the material.
Published by the DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program, the catalogue accompanies his 1971 exhibition and the realization of Skypiece at the Neue Nationalgalerie.
Photographs and texts by George Rickey and others place the work within the sculptural debates of the time.
