At the centre of this practice is the stain. More than accident: operator. The crude, excessive, even ugly, enters the image as a force. Surfaces are smeared, broken, or overworked, allowing the painting to remain open, unstable.

It produces its own precision. It brings together paintings and sculptural references without resolving their differences, allowing the work to remain in a state of active contradiction.
